Can someone tell me if this is a Hen or a Roo. I have been calling " her " Martha may have to change it
to Mark LOL
She is 4 months old

Its not a good age to tell, if i was guessing i would say martha is a fine name.

Thank you I hope so. I have two and the other one does not have a comb as big as Marthas.

That's a really difficult shot to tell. Can you get me a side shot that would show the hackle and saddle feathers?

I think it's a pullet most likely, but Marans often don't mature until 30+ weeks so a side shot to confirm would make me feel better.

That's a tricky one. I'm feeling like it might be a slow-maturing cockerel due to the red patches on the shoulders and the hint of a rooster tail.

I'm also thinking slower maturing rooster, with that color coming in on the wings. how sure are you on age?
