Almost, but I think it was a sundial that the shadow went backwards ten degrees on.
II Kings 20: 8-11

Ok, this has been under my skin all day. I really remembered it as a sundial. Lo and
behold I discovered that some versions of
the Bible say it went back by steps and some
say it went back by degrees ( a sun dial).
Now I understand my confusion. (I use KJV which says degrees. The NIV says steps.) So, long story short- the shadow went backwards. Now this technicality is settled in my mind at least! Sorry about any confusion.
