Bielefelder size

@BlueBaby has Bielefelders, so she could probably tell you.
I had 2 cockerel's that I hatched from different batches, but let a friend take the youngest one last month. I never have weighed them.

I have 2 of the girl's that are currently broody. I am able to take the real egg's from under them without getting pecked and when I lift them, they feel hefty compared to other breed's that I have had in the past, including the Australorp's and the Naked Neck's.

My roos are about 8.5-9 lbs. Hens are no slouches either, although I have never weighed them. Gimme a few minutes and I'll go aggravate Dora, LOL. 20210324_215608.jpg Oppy2021.jpg Dora102022.jpg

I have seen weights from those posted here by some hatcheries but much more by others.... Some list them as larger than the orpintons and that made me wonder and skeptical of them being so large.

There's nothing wrong with having a bigger bird. These are laying well, and the extra boy's can make a good Sunday family meal. I haven't weighed mine, and I do not free-range. I keep them protected in a coop that I lock up, and an attached run.
