Bielefelder thread!!!!

Pics
I was out in the coop today checking on my Bielefelder's because we have some rough heat over here. I have yet to hear either of the 2 cockerel's crow yet, but the oldest one was out there trying to breed one of the pullet's that should start laying egg's soon. I wonder if he has tried to breed the pullet's that are a couple month's older then him yet? :idunnoMaybe I will have fertile egg's over here soon.
Chuck some in the bator just for science 😅

We are located in northern Michigan and looking for a Bielefelder roo or cockerel. We had a young Bielefelder rooster who was awesome, but we recently lost him (we think it was a fox). We are looking to replace him. We got him from a local lady who happened to have an extra cockerel that came in a mixed run last fall, so getting another from where we got him isn't an option. If someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it, we don't want to order from a hatchery for a single bird.

Good luck with finding one near you! I do have an extra boy, but I live too far away from you. He's still a cockerel, but he's getting interested in the girl's now. He hasn't crowed yet.

Ours had just started crowing and rounding up the hens when they got too far away. He was great, we were so upset when he disappeared from the coop. We think that he flew over the fence and was taken by a fox, but we found no feathers or blood. We hoped that he had just gone walk-about and would return, but no such luck.

Sorry that you lost him. These Bielefelder seem to be pretty good boy's.
