Chickens are good at pretending, but if you observe them closely you can see if they are truly eating and drinking, or just faking it. I'm sure it can be uncomfortable. I guess just observing your bird will tell you how she feels currently.
Truly sick or miserable birds can't totally hide that. They often separate themselves, and will pretend to eat.
Don't feel bad if you want to cull before she gets bad enough to need culling now. That's not always best either. It's a hard decision. I try to make met decisions based on facts, not my feelings, but sometimes that's hard.
