Big Bare spots

The rooster tail has this disgusting egg thing on his big tail feather. Ugh. Noticed it today.
If that disgusting egg sack thing is attached at the base of his feather or close to it, he probably has lice. That sounds like a lice egg sack. Give him a bath with a lice shampoo and it should get rid of them and the mites if he has both!

I wouldn't recommend shampooing 1 chicken for mites or lice. Spray every crevice of your coop with permethrin spray and all chickens. Change bedding. Repeat once a week for three weeks. Does no good shampooing one bird or even all if you dont treat the source.
Also post a pic of the bump on the rooster. So experts can determine if it's a tumor or not.

Ohhh. Mites like under wings and some hens will pluck feathers out in response. I see. I will chemical spray them as soon as that heals.
You really need to get the permethrin and treat all birds and your coop asap.
Mites can suck the life right out of them and they can die.

F24FA912-C642-4F78-B2AC-70D4B8A64A82.jpeg I got this today and it just ticked me off. It’s 8 oz And it has a whole table with hundreds of chicken measurements above 8 oz. The lowest measurement is 8 oz per 12.5 gal. Does that equal .64 oz per one gallon? That’s stupid. I can’t even measure that nor do I need a gallon. I have 8 chickens. And it only keeps 24 hours. I can’t imagine why they don’t think backyard owners are buying their product.

And if the don’t even sell this stuff for backyard owners, how did I screw up so bad and no one else has a problem (or demand for product-> appropriate product marketed to scope of problem)?

Sorry. I’m just mad today. I’m pregnant and I don’t want to mix chemicals and this is ridiculous what is wrong with my new yard.

What size is your spray bottle that you are going to be using? A regular sorry bottle size like a kitchen cleaner bottle?

See the little thing on the top right of the bottle? You squeeze the bottle and that little area fills up.. it should be once ounce.
