Big black hen picking on partial blind 8 week old chick

I had a mostly blind rooster. He grew up with 4 other chicks and by the time they were 10 weeks old I had to separate them. I ended up putting some 4 week old ducklings in with him and they all got along great. I'm pretty sure he would have never been able to live with chickens. The chickens peck really hard and kept him away from the food also. Unfortunately he ended up as bear food.

My big black bossie hen died yesterday morning after escaping the fenced off garden area and had an encounter with my tied up dog, she hide for the night but the damage must have been bad, because yesterday morning, looking for her again I finally heard her and then moments later saw my other dog with hennyPenny in his mouth out in the field, I ran out to them and HennyPenny was still alive I brought her back to the house, but sadly she died in my arms moments later. So the little chick is in the coop run now with my rooster and so far so good and holding her own with him.
