big broody mom

i have a hen that has been broody for more than a year! she hats chicks and eats her eggs! i meantiond this on a thread but i cant find it... anyway how do i break her broodyness???

You put her in a wire dog crate and wait until she's not long wanting to nest when let out

I have never done this before but I heard that you can put them in a cage or something... Not sure

Yes, place her in a cage with a wire bottom for a few days, with food and water. The cage should be raised up. An old rabbit hutch is ideal. The idea is to keep her away from the nest and ventilation of her stomach will help break her. Let her loose after 3 or 4 days. If she goes right back to the nest, then put her back in the cage for another few days, and try again.
