big drop in egg production

Should egg laying increase this time of year? I was getting 12-16 eggs a day. Then 3, 1, 2 & 2.
What is going on?

I thought I had lost egg production, but the little suckers just found a dark corner. I found eggs that had been piling up for about 3 days. Could they have found a new spot to lay? If they are getting the same feed, the same amount of daylight, and they seem healthy then something else is up. How buttoned up is your coop? Could you have a critter snacking on the eggs?

Could they be going broody?

Thank you all. There is much to consider. I thought a few were going broody. I kept taking the eggs. One of the 3 persevered. I gave her 6 baby chicks from TSC. She did not accept them. They are in the brooder. The hen is no longer sitting. Some of my flock do eat eggs but there is always evidence. Wet sticky eggs and hay. Some shell. I threw caution to the wind and added 8 adult hens to the flock about 2 weeks ago. They are roosting and scratching for food together. They are supposed to be 9 to 12 months old.
I will wait a bit. I just bought 140 egg cartons.
