I made an 8 foot wide by 16 foot long living space for my soon coming ducklings. I have 4 muscovy on the way. They will be here the 28th. I read a lot about them but did not know they are seasonal layers. I really want to add 2 non seasonal layers. (I currently have no ducks.) There would be a total of 6 if I add 2 more. Do you guys think this would be enough total living space?
I also ordered a chicken coup and added onto that 5 feet 2 in wide and 12 foot long run for 6 chickens. Is this considered plenty of space? I am hoping to keep them happy. I am planning on 2 silkies, 2 easter eggers, and 2 australorps as they are all calm and good family friendly chickens. According to videos I've watched it should be fine but I thought Id ask anyway...
I am so excited but also nervous!

I don't know about the ducks, but for chickens the usual guidelines are that each standard-sized hen needs:

4 square feet in the coop,
10 square feet in the run,
1 linear foot of roost,
and 1 square foot of permanent, 24/7/365 ventilation, best located above the birds' heads when they're sitting on the roost. The pop door that's closed at night and any windows that are closed in the winter don't count.

Where, in general, are you located? Climate matters and we'll be able to give better advice if we know. :)

I live in Oregon. It doesnt usually get too cold or too hot. From what I understand the muscovy breed does really well in all climates. Where I work we have "wild" ducks that come visit all the time. Its so cute. Lol 8 feet by 16 feet is 128 sq ft right? So that should be plenty of room overall...I am still working on the coop. I dont have to worry about predators really. House cats mainly are around here and I heard cats usually aren't a threat.
