I put a stick in the brooder box with mine and they just ignored it for the first two days. Now they run along it like it's a highway for chickies!

The darlings LOVE to roost up high. I do move it every so often to either put a new one in or to put it in another spot, so they dont get to bored. lol

I left it in and it took about an hour before anyone ventured over to check it out. I have seen 2 of my silkies roosting on it but everyone else either plays limbo "stick" or jump over the candle "stick"with it. It is funny because those 2 silkies have been "suspect" from the getgo, they are so roo like and this was another sign. We shall see.

I gave mine sticks. I still have most of a giant tree laying around in my yard waiting to be cleaned up, so LOTS of sticks handy.

They mostly ignored it, no fear. I've seen them peck at it some, and they DO walk on/over it but they aren't hanging out yet. They're young still, so I'm sure they will catch on.
