Big growth on rooster upper leg

My 4 year rooster has a very soft golf ball size growth on his upper leg. It is obviously filled with blood supply. Vet put him on antibiotics, pain meds and anti imflammatory medication. Said she couldnt remove it because he was fat and may not come thru with anesthesia. Does this look at all familair

For mites, it's important you treat the whole flock. Start by coating the legs and feet in vegetable oil and then covering with vaseline. The idea is to smother the mites.

Just go to your coop at night, touch your roosting chicks at the front so they stand up and you can easily spray both legs even without having to move or hold them for spraying.

A 10 day treatment spraying every other day should kill all the mites and their eggs to.

However it might take a while until the old scales fall off and your chicken display neat legs again.

You can oil the legs with a thicker oil, such as castor, mineral, vegetable, coconut, or vaseline or vegtable shortening. Ivermectin Pour-on 0.1 ml per every 2 pounds of weight cannbe given once and again in 14 days. The Ivermectin would require a 14 day egg withdrawal if used in a hen.

The lesion on the leg looks more like a tumor, but leg mites can grow large crusty lesions sometimes.
