??Big Hatchery methods???

All the big hatcheries say they have one or two "Hatch" days a week. I know they have a lot more control on temps and everything to get thier chcks to hatch on a schedule, but they can't have every chick hatch right on time.

What happens to the early hatchers or the ones who are still pipping when they pull the huge trays of chciks out to be packed?

Do they just toss the ones not in sinc?

I would guess, based on what they do with the poorly hatched ones, they are made into animal feed.

Seems very wasteful of they are other wise healthy chicks.

I wonder how many have walk up stores where you can go buy whatever's in their bins that day? I bet you could get some cheap(pun intended) deals!

Oh, I would LOVE that. All of my girls and guys are just pets, anyway, so I wouldn't mind doing a good deed and being a little fluffy peep's angel.

Sadly, we don't live near any hatcharies. Poor things never had a chance.
