Hello everyone! It is so very wonderful to know that there are other people who consider their chickens as "Pets" as do I. Right now we have 2 Black Australorp hens, 3 Buff Orp hens, 3 RIR hens, and Auracauna hen and Rooster...all of these guys are almost 6 months old. Then there is Teddy, our 18 month old Americauna Rooster. My 4 year old daughter has raised these with much love and dedication

I would say most of the people on here treat their chickens as pets, or at least some of their chickens. I'm a for profit breeder but I still have my pet flock that I free range and spoil.
