My thought on this whole Conficker thing

is its a ploy by the AV makers to get people to BUY thier products because there are so many GREAT FREE AV programs out there. Notice they keep stating that the FREE programs WILL NOT WORK/PROVIDE PROTECTION and you MUST PURCHASE their programs to ensure security is maintained?
