My flock has grown to 18 chickens and I'm thinking I need to improve upon my existing coop. I'm fully prepared to pull down the entire thing and start fresh, but Im having a really hard time finding something appropriate for that many birds. Especially with winter coming (I'm in Charlotte NC area), I want to be sure they can all be cozy. Not opposed to plans for building or a kit. The ladies free range during the day, so it's really just to make sure they have a warm, draft free bed/roost at night and lovely nesting boxes for the yummy eggs. Any suggestions would be greatly welcome!

Do you have an old shed you can convert into a coop? It's much faster than building from scratch and you can design it however it suits your needs and site. You can also buy used sheds pretty cheap and have them moved to your property by a shed seller.
