big problem with heat lamp , chickies on the way!

ok so i have a goose neck lamp but it says max 60 watts , so a friend of mine bought a new lamp and rewired it to hold 100 watts but it not working and i dont have any other lamps what can i do??

Apparently it is wired wrong. How did your friend wire it to now be a 100 watt light? I would not trust such wiring. Go to Wal Mart or to your feed store and buy a light fixture that is rated for the wattage bulb your going to use.....

I'm a neewbie to this, but I had good success keeping them temps right just using a desk lamp with a 100 watt bulb in it. Other, more experienced chickeners might say otherwise, but if it works, hey!
