They are the same age, Tiki aka Runt, has been slow on the growth.
Here's a pic where you can see it pretty well.

She's a scrawny little thing but holds her own

mother o' chicks72 :

just thought i'd tell you that you shouldn't be giving them water out of a rat or rabbit waterer. there are special chick waterers that are much better. they look like this:
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...=1t:429,r:10,s:0&tx=13&ty=80&biw=1366&bih=591

they have one of those plus a big bowl of water out in the run.
I'm just curious as to why though? I'm new to the chicken thing so trying to learn still.

She is adorable in that last pic! So cute.

Are those your roosts that are close to the ground like that? I worry about my big girls landing on my bantams when jumping off the roost. But maybe I could put them close to the ground?

There are lots of people here who use those waterers. I have a few too who are varying in size. I put the little ones with the bumb leg one in a different brooder..the big ones would just trample the tiny guys.

I don't actually know why you aren't supposed to use those waterers

, just thought i'd trow it out there.

It can be really confusing to newbies when non-factual statements are made on a forum where people come to get answers to questions about raising live animals. If it gets repeated often enough, soon people take it for granted that it is true.

I think the biggest concern with any waterer is bacterial growth. I do disinfect all their dishes with bleach once a week(ok so I may be a little over paranoid).
