So it is 9 pm here and I am finished, except for the ladder going in. I would not have been able to accomplish this without the great people on this board. Big shout out to Patandchickens for the great advise on the electric fencing. I have it up and running with tuna fish on aluminum foil strung over the hot lines. My chickens are safe in the house and I will run it this way for a few days as to zap anything before the chickens are actually in there. Maybe that way anything close will get a good pop and move on to easier prey. I know I have quite a few predators here to worry with and am trying to take all precautions so I will not be posting over on the predator boards. I will post pics tomorrow because it is too late to take them tonight. I will warn you it is not the prettiest coop but I do believe I have covered all my bases. I have a covered run with ck wire covered by a tarp. Then I ran 2 ft hardware along the bottom of a 10 x 10 dog kennel and electric fencing around the outside. I kind of made it on the tacky side to encourage my husband to build a better one when he comes home in July. No better way to get him motivated like junking up the yard. haha I am smarter than he gives me credit for!
Thank you all so very much!
