Bigger Brooder???

[six little chicks]

We’re running out of room in our brooder, our poor babies are growing too fast, they don’t have much room to run around in. The coop is almost finished but, it’s still too cold out there for them, it was snowing yesterday. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use for a bigger brooder for our babies? I have to keep a lid/top on the brooder because of the cat. Thanks.

I simply use the largest plastic bins from Wal-Mart and lay stiff wire mesh across the top to place my heat lamp (has a dimmer switch to control temp). Once they graduate to moving outside, the heat lamp goes with them until I'm confident that outdoor temps are acceptable
