I'm having a serious temp problem myself. I bought another bator jut like the one I already have which is a LG and got turners for them both. I didn't have a big problem with temps before in my other one the past year but since I put in the turners it has been a real pain in the backside. I've hardly gotten any sleep from babysitting the bators. Right now the older one has chicks hatcing in it and the turner is out and the temp is stabilized. On the other hand the new one with all the new turner and thermometer/hydrometer is going wacko. It has spiked up as far as 104 and as low as 98.4. It will stay at 98.4, but when I try to get it to 95.5 it just keeps climbing. Just a little while ago I discovered the battery is bad in the new thermometer. So I put the older one in since that bator is doing fine. But the temps are still low. Is it safe to let it stay at 98.4? I have eggs in it that are from a week to 2 weeks into incubation. I really don't want to loose these eggs but I fear that's too late already. When these chicks hatch I can put the eggs in the older bator and return the new one for an exchange and pray it works better. I have shipped eggs that need to go in by friday. I have to have this temp problem solved or i've got a long 3 weeks coming.
But for now, is it safe to let it stay at 98.4? I usually let it get between 99.5 and 101.0 any higher or lower and I make adjustments.
