My 6 month old blue silkie rooster has started "dancing around my feet when i go out in the pen with him, I reach down and pet him when he does it and he does not seem to mind. Today he did the same to my child but also pecked at her feet - is this the beginning of rooster aggression? I can not keep a bird that is agressive to my family, any suggestions?

Mine did that at six months old. The first one I stalked every day for about 20 minutes. I would not let him stop, just kept him moving. After a week, he didn't do it, and a few months after that we were best buddies. When you stalk him, never back up, don't let him eat, drink or do anything but keep moving.

The other silkie roo my 9 year old granddaughter did the same way. He stopped the behavior as well. Now he is her favorite. You are telling him in rooster language that he is not the alpha roo, you are, or your child if she can do this.

so heartbrok an animal came in and killed little Dot = white silkie pictured with my daughter, they really become part of the family :(
