I love this thread! Just curious if this particular plant could be used to treat coccidiosis-would its attack on B1 do something similar to corid/amprolium?
In theory, yes, but not knowing the concentration all of the active chemicals needed for control oh, you would have to guess at the dosage and risk poisoning your animals. Thankfully, my animals have plenty of other things to eat and ignore this. As my pastor becomes established it is being out competed as well

I did not take a picture of the little blue stem this time around, it's hard to distinguish from some of the other grasses at this stage period similarly on the several varieties of panic grass in my acres period grass, the only place it grows. Still, what should be obvious is that I am missing any quantity of grains, which I hope to correct this year with the amaranth, sorghum, etcetera that I threw down last month.

Have you considered doing some plant cages? Cages around the plants so the chickens can only eat as much as grows outside the cages, can't demolish it totally. Just a thought. If you could do like a row cover with wire to give an area time to establish.

Looks like a young cherry tree maybe
Yes, that's what my phone app was saying as well. If true, I certainly would not complain. There are several similar plants, though that is the tallest, in that area of the pasture. I just don't recall ever eating cherries around there, and have no explanation as to how they might have otherwise appeared there

It does appear to be trying to fruit, so I guess we will know soon?

I'm in Ohio and we have areas of alot of wild cherry trees. I don't know if they have much for actual fruits. I try to identify them because the wilted leaves can be toxic so I want to know if the sheep may ever be around them.

I can tell by the scars on the bark that my goats have been using the bush to scratch between their horns
