My bantam chicken recently got attacked (we think by a bird of prey) and survived. Two days later we find that the small cut she had under her wing has some bruising and swelling around it, and I don’t know what to do to help her. She loves people and let me put polysporin on the cut, but should I be worried about the bruising and swelling?

Wash it good with sterile saline solution in a spray bottle which you can make yourself and coat it with the polyspotin to keep it moist. Do this twice a day and protect her from flies. The bruising and swelling should diminish with time. Watch for redness, weeping and heat which could be signs of infection, if you see those let us know and an Educator will give advice on antibiotics.
