Bird Briar Farm

I'm new to BYC forum but not to chickens. We have been caring for a layer flock at Bird Briar Farm in Buxton Maine for about 10 years. Our flock has grown to about 50 chickens and includes a variety of breeds. My personal favorites are Speckled Sussex and Dark Cornish but we love them all. We live in a rural area in the middle of the woods. We free range the chickens as much as possible but predators are regular problem. We also have a small flock of Welsh Harlequin ducks which are a wonderful part of the poultry family here. Our birds provide eggs, fertilizer, entertainment and companionship.
