Bird Feed OK for Chickens?

My local feed store, Big R, has an aisle kind of like the dog treat "buffet" at Petco, except it has a variety of bird seeds that you can mix together to put in your bird feeders. It's an awesome concept. Whenever I go there to pick up chicken feed and stuff, I pass by it and wonder if I could put together some for my chicken scratch instead of buying the bags of it because putting my own stuff together is much cheaper than buying it already mixed. I don't specifically know the types of seeds they offer but I know there is a quite a variety so maybe someone could just tell me what seeds are safe and which are not?

Sunflower seeds and millet are great for chickens. And they love them.

Corn should be kept to a minimum. While chickens absolutely love it, it is basically empty calories for them.
