It's been a long time since I visited BYC... Too much I want to do and not enough time to do it all. But I just had to share this, it is just so neat!
My husband sent me a message while I was at work to tell me that there was a white sparrow at the feeder. When I got home he showed me pictures and told me that it had a name that started with an L, he couldn't remember the word. Thinking of my white peafowl I asked if it was Leucistic. Looking it up, it appears that they are very rare. He contacted Audubon who said it could have been a Snow Bunting and requested a picture. He sent a picture to them and they said that it is indeed a Leucistic Sparrow and said he made the day of everyone in the office.
Today the sparrow is back at the feeder so I got to see it too! Has anyone else here ever seen a Leucistic Sparrow?
