Bird has a black bottom and protrusion below the vent. I can’t tell if it a scab or dried poop. Can anyone advise?

That wound is too deep and life threatening. This chicken is dying. You need to rinse and to pack the wound with wet dressing soaked in sterile normal saline. It has to heal from the inside out and it needs dressing changes at least once a day, twice is better. The problem is, it is not possible to maintain a sterile field and a sterile wound in a chicken that poops right on the wound. You cannot put it back into the coop or backyard. Eventually it will get peritonitis and sepsis. She will need antibiotics to keep the infection at bay.
As sad as it sounds, I would cull.

Thanks. Apparently she had a tumor and lots of liquid in her belly that wasn’t ascites. She was four and had a happy life.
