Lost one of my better ♂ birds yesterday to a Bird of Prey.
I have been letting them free fly on their own accord the past week or so (bad idea). I will be confining them to their loft here out and letting them fly only on Tosses and in the evenings.
The worst part was he and his mate had squabs (fully fledged except for the final development under the wings) and a clutch of eggs.
On the upside I did some egg candling.
I have a young pair who laid only days apart and their eggs are infertile so I swapped.
I think only one of the ♂ eggs is developing out of his clutch the other looks like a quiter. Time will tell.
