bird picking at its feathers near vent

My 4 day old chick is picking at its feathers near its vent.. well it is to the left and to the right
has anyone seent this

It could be preening itself or it could be getting pasty butt and it's trying to get it out or off.

One of mine did that persistently for about 2-3 weeks. I never figured out why, but she would pick it bloody. Never saw any other chicks picking, just her. She got better eventually.

I dont think that it is pasty butt.. I did put a little Petrolium Jelly on the vent. I dont think it is because the vent is clean. ???

I hope that it is nothing and will heal itself. I am going to go to the farm supply store tomorrow afternoon.
