Was out with the flock and saw my nearly year old hen with this gooey substance hanging out of her vent. Pretty sure it's not a worm.

She's moving around. Eating and drinking fine. Laying regularly.

Vent gleet or something else? Recommended treatment for gleet if that's what it is?

TIA

If it were vent gleet, that smells pretty bad. If it is, I'd give probiotics and put generic Monistat on her vent three times a day after cleaning her up in a bucket of warm Epsom salt water. You can also give her about a 1/2" from the tube orally.

Unsure. But she has had issues with soft shelled eggs in the past. I have her isolated so I'll keep an eye on her. Hopefully she lays tomorrow and if it was part of a soft egg it expels.
If she's been having some issues with soft shelled eggs, it's likely due to this.

I'd start her on Extra Calcium asap to see if she's able to expel a membrane or other material.
Calcium Citrate+D3 at least 300mg, pop 1 tablet now, then once daily into her beak for 5-7 days. You can find this at Walmart, CVS, Dollar General, etc.
