Darn it. My chickens are smarter than two motivated adults. In go the peepers, but one or two hefty scratches by a big brahma foot sends it flying. So too on the feisty EE girl. Darn.

Oh, no, no chickens were hurt. Pinless Peepers are sort of like sunglasses made of plastic you put on your chicken to let them eat okay but not peck each other. I just can't get them to stay on my chickens. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't think you are applying them properly. I have hens that have worn them for well over a year, despite trying to scratch them off. Are you applying them by hand or using peeper pliers?

We failed with a tool so I thought I did it right by hand after submersing in ultra hot water and spreading it open with my hands. Perhaps one side was on the tissue just above the nostril. I'll try again. What is the smallest bird you've used standard peepers on? My EE is small.

Those pinless peepers usually stay put pretty well. Make sure they are put on properly and are the right size. If it looks too big it probably is.
If all else fails, you can try the pinned peepers, I dislike those, but they really do stay on through just about anything.
