Birds' feet!

Even on the gulf of Mexico, you can always find one missing a leg. The others dont' bother it, but it hangs right in there with them. I feed the gulls from on the beach, and whey will take food out of your hands all the time.

We had a ring-billed gull show up at the lake with a bloody leg right at the end of migration. Something was wrong with his wings, too, but he could fly short distances. We called him "hop-a-long Bill" and the leg seemed to get better. I really enjoyed him until he suddenly died last week. I looked at his leg and the bone was completey showing and half his foot was paralyzed and dead. I had no idea it was that bad and am amazed at how well he did for 8+ months in that condition.
