I like my chickens and all but it is really strange to me to see picture posted of chickens inside peoples houses. How many of you bring your birds indoors and what about the "mess" they make? I even remember seeing pictures of on one that had a bird roosted on the computer monitor, I am sorry but that's just weird (besides the laptop wouldn't take it HAHA)

I bring mine in for pictures. They are not that messy, especially when I compare them to my 2yr old...

I thought of doing that for one of my chickens. Her name is shakes, she's a glw. She has something wrong with her neck muscles i think she has always shaked her head. When she bends over it increases. I used to think she was just scared, but the vet said i should probally cull her,it's a neuromuscular problem. i just can't, she is very sweet and sometimes one will pick on her, but she holds her own. She is growing so i figure if nature wanted her to die she would. I might buy a cage, where she can stay at night and some chicken diapers but for right now she stays with the flock.

Ive had my Chicks inside, I havent had my pullets in the house since they were 7 weeks old but my current 8 week olds still come in the house every night.

If I was able, Ide put them outside with the others now, but we have too much going on atm so im waiting another week.

As to wether ill ever bring them in after that, I could see doing that on a limited basis for pics or whatever, not reguarly.
Might be different if I didnt have a toddler.

I've been threatening to bring one in the house, the cats are not doing a very good job of keeping the cricket population down. My DH wouldn't approve, but he gets regular visits inside his workshop from some of the girls.

This was Miss MoneyPenny sitting next to Sir Hopsalot.

I have hardwood floors so I can just sweep up the ploop. Splort, I use petstain remover.
Some chickens have no problem with the diapers. Slifer was fine with hers. Obelisk was another story...she acted as if you were trying to kill her.

I have my 2 chicks indoors. But they are in a cage most of the day. Too dangerous to let them out with a high speed toddler around hehe. In the evenings they get to come out and play. They wander the house and after awhile settle onto mine or DHs sholder and sleep. My dog cleans up most of thier messes

I do the rest.
