Dr Leyland Hayes recommended .5 specifically for coturnix in his quail breeders newsletter (for bobs he raised the number slightly) that it worked for him is part of why I posted it that it works for me part of my success I believe is that my flock is in a state of constant flux ( I have culled fairly heavily the last year +) that and birds that are brooded together get along better then birds just put together. Part of my success is I only have one roo per pen so if you have tried something that is when I comment on it, things I have not tried I am reluctant to comment on having no experience in whatever it is I can only offer opinions not actual experience just the way I roll
i have had birds in that ratio give or take a bird for short periods of time and they were NOT happy at all and fought and hurt each other so i'm not commenting on something that i have no knowledge at all of.
