Today's my DG's birday and everyone was at the house. Someone got the bright idea to open up the pen with one black silkie, one bronze turkey and 2 bobwhite quail. Of course one of the quail got out (the day before I was going to clip their wings) and the chase was on. DG screaming like a firetruck siren, people running into each other and then the inevitable, it flew over into the front yard where the cat got it. Now the chase through the house, through the bushes and into the garage where the cat and quail were cornered. Believe it or not after moving an old t.v., a bike, and some camping equipment, the quail was recovered all in one piece and perfectly fine. I guess we should reward the cat for doing what nine people couldn't do, catch that quail.
