Elanor: Yayy!Omelette: Mommy looked at another BO on Monday for my friend, but I am still not coming out of the nest.
Petrie: Ooohh another rooster... Gaah now there are too many choices.
Lily: you'll probably never see any of the others.
Petrie: be quiet, Lillian.
Lily: you did not just go there.
Petrie: you dare disrespect your queen?
Lily: *silence*
Aroura: Hi, I'm Auroura and the queen of the coop...
Sunrise: There's no real queen of our coop.
Susan:Aroura acts like a queen though, and is at the top of our pecking order
Autumn: She's bossy
Aurora: Hey!!!
Selena:We're all RIR mixes here, and all hens. The neighbors have a rooster though. I'm in love with him. [sighs]
Sunrise: That rooster already has hens of his own,Selena. Snap out of it!
Midnight: yeah, and youv'e never even seen him before, just heard him crow. And I think it's dumb to call us RIRs because I'm not red though, I'm black.
Quote:
Selena: Today when my sissies were taking dust baths, I went on a walk though the woods across the road. Mommy and Auntie are afraid I could get hurt whenever I take long walks.
Susan: Selena's always wandering away from the flock and exploring the scary woods.
Selena: Stop interuppting! So I went up this big hill and I was about ready to turn back when I saw some chickens! They were the neighbor's hens and you won't believe this...
Sunrise: She saw the rooster she was in love with.[rolls eyes]
Selena:I saw the rooster I was in love with! [sighs] And then I made friends with them. There are three RIR hens, a BR hen and the rooster was an RIR too.
Susan:Selena, Are you aware that that Oh-so-dashing "rooster" is a cockrel?
Sunrise: He's not even a year old! and you are a three year old hen![giggles]
Junior: Selena, I like to take long walks too, but my Mom always comes and finds me before I can go real far. You're lucky that you met some hens!! We don't have any chickens in our neighborhood, but we have some cousins!! (Me: Their cousins are chickens 4 ever's chickens.
Bisquick: Yea, we have four cousins. You can ask chickens 4 ever about it.![]()
Auroura: there was a big storm!
Sunrise: we were all dustbathing under the porch when it clouded up
Susan: It got awfully windy, and then it started to rain
Autumn: Auroura said we should go back to our coop, and for once we all agreed with her.
Selena: All exept midnight and me.
Midnight:I saw no reason whatsoever to go back to the coop. It was sheltered under the porch, and it was a long walk through the rain.
Auroura: so right after we got back to the coop, it started to pour.
Sunrise: the coop doors were all open and rain poured in
Susan: we had to huddle under the nestboxes until Auntie closed the doors
Autumn: There was tons of lightning and thunder.
Selena: We got behind our dustbath to shelter ourselves from all the rain blowing under the porch.
Midnight: Mommy tried to coax us out from under the porch, but ther was no chance I was coming out
Aurora: the storm ended, but it's still raining.
Sunrise: It's probably a good Idea to hang around the coop in case it starts again.
George: *shakes out his feathers*
Pepper: BIGGY IS COMING!!!
Amulet: >-> *peck*
Pepper: *flails*
Three more hens joining (again from across the street)!
Popcorn: I am the leader of my coop! Besides George.
Wish: Yeah, but Amulet is the leader of us all.![]()
Amarosa: Yes, bow to Queen Amulet!![]()
![]()
![]()
Popcorn: Oh, yes, Amulet is the leader of the street!![]()
George:Even I shall submit to this beautiful lady.![]()
![]()
Pepper: ... *silence*
George: *squint* Pepper. Why aren't you bowing to the beautiful hen Amulet, the leader of our entire street?![]()
Amarosa, Popcorn and Wish: *gasp*![]()
Pepper: ... Because I don't want to.
Amulet: >->
Wish: You DARE disrespect Queen Amulet???
Pepper: Okay, fine.![]()
Amulet: >-> I'm watchin' you, Pepper.
Cheep: We got out for a really long time today![]()
Mocha: It's starting to get hard for mom to tell Brownie and us apart! I mean I know we are twins but seriously!
Brownie: I KNOW RIGHT! I am SO much cuter! *squeal*
Mocha: Oh shut your beak.
Peep: guys stop.
Cheep: We got bread and grapes! YUM!
Peep: I LOVE grapes!
Brownie: Bread is more my thing![]()
Mocha: I like both!
Junior: Mocha and Brownie I think that you guys are coming over this weekend!!! If your grammi says yes.
Snap: I hope she does!!!
Bisquick: You will have two choices of housing. Our old coop or a small metal thing inside Grampi's garage.
Buttermilk: Oh, that metal thing is nasty. I'd pick our old coop.
Streamflow Cooopschooling Co-op--Late Summer Newsletter
Where your chooks get the education you choose for them
Dear Students,Are you ready for another fun year at Streamflow? School starts Sept 3r, so be sure to pick up your school supplies! The enclosed elective choice forms must be returned, by mail, person, or fax, by August 14, so we can place people in classes they want.
Over the last several weeks, the building has been refurbished and added on to. We now have a library, four more classrooms, a perching and balancing course, and a flight deck (meaning Flight team students no longer have to be bussed to Sunset Ridge school for practice). We are also welcoming three new teachers. Mrs. Nelsone, teaching Advanced Perching And balancing, Mr. Hopkin, our new Flight coach, and Mrs. Minta, who will teach the new year-round just hatched chick program--previously available only in the spring. We also have new rules--due to the new flight deck, Fir Tree Chicken School will be using our facility every Monday and Friday, and the county winter vegetables club will use our building on Sunday afternoons. We may also be renting our facility to other people. So one of the new rules is that you may only enter the school grounds if you have school or belong to a party renting the facility. Another is no advertising to students, whatsoever--last year we had issues with unauthorized posters plastered across the fence, among the legitamate ones who had paid for a spot to advertise. Nobody could tell the difference, so now there is no advertising whatsoever.
This year at Streamflow
BusesThis year, we have bought three new buses--one to replace our oldest bus, one as a backup in case of breakdowns, and one to add a new route. This means that if you are in the area north or west of the school, (between east Rippler road and Sunset drive) your bus routes may be shuffled from last year. The new bus route (#89) will go in a loop around West Rippler, then go up Feather road , then along Pondwood street, then go in another loop in the subdivisions around Sunset Ridge school. Because of this route #90 will skip Feather road and instead go up and down Warbler path and in a loop in the Finch street area, and #84 will skip The Sunset Ridge Subdivisions and instead take the Subdivisions near Star creek, which route #78 will no longer be covering. See enclosed bus route map for details.
SchedulesThis year, we will meet twice a month--on the first Tuesday of the month, and then the third Tuesday. This is from 8:30 Am to 4:20 PM. Flight team meets will be every Thursday, eight-thirty until noon. Supplementary tutoring is on Wednesdays, from 10am -2pm.
WebsiteOur Website is FINALLY set up so you can get to the online school programs we use within the website. Now you only have to have one account to access all the programs we use. Your account will be set up by a school staff member before the school year.
Thanks,
The Streamflow Staff.
(Hope you don't mind earlybird, but I'm going to steal your idea of a newsletter. ;D)
Pine Cone Coopschooling Co-op Newsletter
The best education for the best learners
Students of Pine Cone Co-op,
We all know here at Pine Cone that you all are dying to come back to the classrooms, see your favorite teachers, and of course
eat the delicious cafeteria food! We have made a few slight changes to our facility and the way we run things here at Pine Cone.
The details of the changes will be enclosed in this mid-summer newsletter. Please take a moment to read this newsletter.
2013-2014 year at Pine Cone Coopschooling Co-op
Here at Pine Cone over the summer we have made a few alterations to our facility since we have been growing vigorously.
We now have a track built, a soccer/football field, and we have improved our flight deck so that no more chickens will be
able to excuse themselves from class because they found a splinter in their foot. We are currently working on stocking our
library, so donations would be greatly appreciated.
Electives, Extra Curricular Classes, and deadlines
If you have not already sent in your forms for the electives and the extra curricular classes, please do so right now. The deadline
ends soon (August 1st) and we would like to have all the forms in for this school year. As of deadlines, we have a new policy on
late homework due. Last year our policy was 10% off the normal score every day it was late. Well last year since we had so many
late homeworks we have giving a flat out zero to late homework. PLEASE BE SURE TO HAND IN HOMEWORK ON TIME.
We cannot stress this enough!! Last year we had a HUGE problem with late homeworks, projects, and other sorts of take-home
work. Zeroes will be given out to late homework, and 20% off of every day a project is late.
Excused absenses, and New Schedule
Last year we also had a problem with unknown absences. Please have your chickens arrive promptly on time, or ideally a couple
minutes early so the teachers here at Pine Cone can start on time. If your chicken is sick, away, or will not be able to come to school
for another circumstance, please contact the office here at Pine Cone immediately. Now what you all have been waiting for-- the new schedule!
Each chicken is allowed 8 classes each, so teachers will be teaching four every day, then the other four the next. That way, chickens will have
more time to complete their homework.
Buses
Due to our enormous growth, Pine Cone has bought two more buses, in addition to our other two. Chickens living on Willow Creek Dr,
Pine Creek Ave, South Pine Street, and Sunnyside Lane will ride on bus #3. Chickens living on Main Street, Feather Side Creek, and
Meadow View Dr will ride on bus #1 and on #2. (More on buses when we send out your own personal bus schedule.) Chickens who live
on Kennelwoods Dr, Homestead Lane, and Wattle Way will ride on bus #4. We will send out your bus route and class schedule in your
own personal letter.
We are very excited for this upcoming year!!! Thank you for taking the time for reading this letter.
Sincerely,
The Pine Cone Coopschooling Staff
Bisquick: Alright!!! We're riding on bus 3!!
Pippy: AAAHHHH!!! NEW AND IMPROVED FLIGHT DECK!!
Buttermilk: Yea, last year everyone had to go to the nurse's office cause they had a so called splinter in their foot.
Snap: I'm actually getting excited for school!!
Elanor: Well, looks like they are finally fixing the bus issues.I was looking through BBSJ and saw it was time for me to post another one of these
Streamflow Cooopschooling Co-op--Late Summer Newsletter
Where your chooks get the education you choose for them
Dear Students,Are you ready for another great school year at Streamflow Coopschooling co-op? School starts Sept 2nd, so be sure to pick up the school supplies listed on the website and register any address changes, or other information changes. If you need to be mailed paperwork or information, please fill out and return the enclosed paper request postcard. We now have a Chicken Supplies online account, so if you want to order all your school supplies online and recieve them the first day of school, sign up here
chickensupplies.com/schoolcustompackages/coopschools/streamflow/teacherlist
Be sure to buy one for each chook and choose the correct class for each, since each level/teacher's package contains different materials. We don't want your senior layers to show up at school to find they have received the package for fall Academy chicks!
Our building has gotten yet another summer add-on. This one has been added to the front of the school and has a new set of offices and five new classrooms. We refurbished the entire school, re-organized, and added clearer signage. Now each wing of the building is specific to a subject or grade level.See the enclosed map for details.
Building
We now have at least one, and usually two or three, nestboxes in each classroom, and one on each bus. The laying room has been turned into a classroom.
Our playground has gotten some new equipment--three new branch roosts, a stick bridge over a giant dustbathing area, a mini-pond (Available only September-October and March-May), and a second outdoor perching and balancing course.
Our kitchen has been updated, and we now have a new corn grinder and a shredder, so we can provide better meals. Hot breakfasts and lunches will be $2.32 this year. Students now have the option of eating on an outdoor porch, on the playground, in the downstairs lunchroom, or on the lunchroom balcony. Remember, when streamflow isn't using it, our facility is rented almost all the time to third parties. These people respect our building and we ask you respect them by never, ever being on campus unless you have school, tutoring, or sports.
Classes and teachersOur chick academy is expanded into five classes. Summer Academy chicks must have been born from May 10th to August 15th. Fall academy chicks birthdate should be from August 16-November 15. Winter Academy goes from November 16th to february 15. Spring academy A chicks are born from Feb. 15-April 1, and any chicks born after that until the end of the school year go to spring academy B. We are hiring three new teachers for the chick academy--Mrs. Cluckstern, Mr. Myland, and Miss Mayburge. We also have a new foraging skills teacher, Mr. Hayland, and a new Elective teacher, Mrs. Eastoon. We now have new attendance policies--for each missed day of co-op, students must take no less than 2 make-up sessions.
Rule UpdatesIn addition to last year's rules...
It is highly recommended that students Pullet level and up use lockers. We have assigned them based on proximity to classes, so you should be able to use it effectively. Please use only the locker assigned to you. You are required to lock it--you may use your own lock or we can assign you one. Lockers should be kept tidy.
The flight deck is NOT for use for students at recess, it is for flight team use only. The indoor perching and balancing course is only for that class.
Students riding the bus will use good judgement in selecting their seats and stay in the seat the entire ride, unless laying an egg. Backpacks are to go underneath the seats, or worn while riding, never on another seat. There is to be no egg song or crowing on the bus. Problem riders WILL be assigned seats. If a student needs to ride another bus then that assigned, a transferal slip must be signed by the bus driver of the bus he will temporarily transfer to and a parent/guardian . If a need to ride another bus comes up suddenly, a parent/guardian can give verbal permission over the phone. Students are expected to keep track of their items on the bus. You must be at the bus stop five minutes before your scheduled pick-up time, and be on the bus to leave from school at three-forty-five. Buses then leave at four-fifty-five.
Technology must be used in complete accordance with Streamflow rules. Any rulebreaks on the Streamflow technology will result in the same consequnces as if you did the same thing in the school. Cyberbullying, trolling, and flaming are not allowed. Keep in mind teacers have acess to all chat room archives and streamflow e-mail adresses.
SchedulesThis year, we will meet once a week--every Tuesday. This is from 8:30 Am to 3:30 PM. Sports meets will be every Thursday, scheduling depending on the sport. Supplementary tutoring is Thursdays, from 10am -2pm. If you miss a session, there is now a policy that you MUST take 2 supplementary tutoring sessions to make up for it.
TechnologyWe now have C-tops available to check out and take home. It is recommended that each student has a device they checked out or they own that they can bring to school and back home. Desktop computers are not efficient for this. It is recommended that you have a laptop or c-pad with a keyboard, or check one out. We need to register all devices used for streamflow work by September 9th.
Our website still houses all programs we use for school along with a 24-hour chat room. We have also developed an offline version of this site so you can do work without going online, and submit the work later. Each student will be reciveing an e-mail to login to the system [email protected].
Thanks,
The Streamflow Staff.

Elanor: *to nearby chicken* Hi, are you new at Stramflow?
Chicken: Yes, my name is Rena. Me and my sister, Amy, just transferred from Sunhill, south of here. What are your names?
*bus pulls away from stop*
Elanor: I'm Elanor, and this is Marianne and Willow, and sitting behind me are Selena and Sophia.
Amy: Pretty names!
Rena: What levels are you?
Elanor: Me and Willow and Marianne are all Young Layers. Sophia is Advanced Layer, and Selena is Advanced Experienced Layer.

Rena: How could you not know??![]()
Elanor: I dunno....
Amy: So wanna hang out with us at lunch??
Elanor: Sure..
(Morning passes quickly and lunchtime arrives. Rena and Amy are in the hot Lunch line, and Elanor, who brought her lunch, is standing near the end of the line waiting for them.)
Elanor: let's go sit down *heads toward table where Sophia, Selena, Willoghby, and Marianne are sitting*
Amy: Um, THERE???
Elanor: Yeaaah.....
Rena: that's just your nerdy sisters. Let's sit there, by those Serama cocks.
Elanor: Okaaayyy....
*Rena, Elanor, and Amy sit down at table. In the meantime, at the table with the other Henley girls...*
Willoghby: It's hard to get used to people calling me Willow.
Marianne: you'll get used to it.
Sophia: Looks like Rena and Amy didn't want to sit with us.
Selena: Not too surprising. They were kind of snobbish on the bus.
Whilloghby: I'm surprised Elanor is even sitting with them. She usually isn't swayed by the crowd. I'm starting to get worried about her and Those two...
Marianne: if I know Elanor, she'll have good judgement.
* After school, chickens are all in coop. Marianne is at the computer, on streamflow.com, doing online math practice. Elanor is reading her history textbook. Whilloghby is procrastinating.*
Marianne: Hey, Elanor, somebody on the new Streamflow chat room is wanting you online.
Elanor: What's thier username?
Marianne, Ummm,....Rena_Polloa. and Amy_Polloa liked the request.
Elanor: That would be Rena and Amy. Tell them I'm sick or something, I don't want to talk.
Marianne: I'll tell them you're studying.
Elanor: I don't want them to know that! They'll tease me!! All they wanted to do today at lunch was gossip, they said mean things about you guys and uuugh!!! I don't want to talk with them again, but they'll bully me int sitting at thier lunch table....WHY DID I EVER AGREE TO SIT WITH THEM???
Pippy: These annoying sassy pullets in my class keep calling me Pippa!!
Hazel: *munching on food while reading a book* What's wrong with that?
Pippy: My name is Pippy not Pippa!!!
Hedwig: That's a cute name Pip!!
Pippy: Well they are girly girly girly girls, and they keep saying how I live on a farm and such...
Omelette: Well don't they?!
Pippy: No! They are house Appenzellar Spitzhaubens!!! They are snooty!!!
Snap: Just stand up to them Pippy! Sounds like they're bullies!
Pippy: But then they'll just report me to the principal saying 'Pippa did yadiyadiyadi!' Then I'll get a detention or something. They ALWAYS have it their way!!
Snap: What are their names?
Pippy: Lizzy and Kinzy-- they're twins.
Snap: Well I'll tell them to lay off...
Pippy: NO!! Don't!!
Omelette: Well do you LIKE them bullying you?
Pippy: NO! But I'll do something....
Snap: Ok....
*in Henny, Penny, Audrey, and Akira's Homeroom.*
Penny: Henny, Audrey, Akira and I are going to the bathroom.
Henny: *stands awkwardly by her desk, turns to Campine Hen.* So, your name is Lucy?
Lucy: Yup. And you're Henrietta?
Henny: I go by Henny.
Lucy: Oh. What do you have next? I've got run design.
Henny: Me too! Do you want to sit with me at lunch?
Lucy: Sure!
*in Midge and Louise's Homeroom, teacher, Ms. Featherfoot, enters*
Ms. Featherfoot: Class! Settle down. In a moment you will go to first block, either AP Math or AP TAOE, depending on your schedule. I don't tolerate funny business.
Louise: *whispers to Midge* She's as bad as they say!
Ms. Featherfoot: Bella, quiet.
Midge:![]()
*in Gwynn and Basil's class*
Mrs. HoneyComb: Hello class! I'll be your teacher for the year. Today, we're going to start with TAOE, which stands for The Art of Egg Laying. You are now Point of Lay pullets, and this is extremely important. Can anyone tell me when you are expected to lay?
Gwynn: *raises wing*
Mrs. HoneyComb: Gwynnevere?
Gwynn: I go by Gwynn. 4-6 months?
Mrs. HoneyComb: Good!
*at lunch, Henny sits down with Audrey, Akira, and Lucy*
Henny: Luce, these are my sisters, Audrey the EE, Akira the Japanese bantam, and...where's Penny?
Audrey: *shrugs* I haven't seen her since Study Block.
Henny: *looks around* There she is! I'll be right back. Come on, Lucy!
*the two march to a table in a corner, where Penny is sitting in a group of laughing hens and roosters. Henny taps her wing*
Penny: Henny! Hi! Guys, this is my twin, Henrietta.
Henny: I go by Henny.
Penny: Why don't you and your friend-
Lucy: Lucy.
Penny: and Lucy sit with us! There's room.
Henny: No thanks. Come on, Luce. Let's go.
*back at table, Louise and Midge sit down*
Midge: What's up, Henny?
Henny: My twin. I can't believe her!
*on bus, Penny sits across from Henny and Lucy*
Henny: ...and I said, "what do you mean you're out of layer butter?"-
Penny: Henny? Are you mad at me?
Henny: Let's move Lucy. I don't like this spot.
*both move back several seats*
Penny: What did I do?![]()
Pippy: *checking her email* Hm! Whose this?!
Hazel: *comes over to computer* *GASP* WHO IS EVAN-
Pippy: SHUSH!
Omelette Hedwig: *sleeping*
Hazel: Sorry... Who is Evan Trotter???
Pippy: A Buckeye cockerel in my class...
Hazel: Why did he email you?!
Pippy: What's that supposed to mean???
Hazel: Sorry!! Just ya know Buckeye-- EE... Don't usually mix....
Pippy: Well thanks a lot.
Hazel: Well what did he say?!
Pippy: *reads email*

Pippy: Oh hush up *goes back to reading email*

Pippy: HUSH! *goes back to reading email again*
