*Ka-BOOOOO-ooo-OOOOm*

Daisy: *flutters about* What was THAT?
Darcy: Thunder.
Daisy: How come your so smart?
Darcy: I pay attention in Nursery.
*Thunder booms again*
Daisy: *squeaks, jumps, and flys around, and trips on darcy.*
Darcy: OUCH! DAISY! IT JUST THUNDER!
Daisy: I don't care!
Darcy: Lets talk about something else.
Daisy: How about you.
Darcy: Me?
Daisy: Yeah. REMEMBER!
Darcy: Oh, hehe, yeah.
Daisy: *facewing*
Darcy: Mommy might change my name. She doesn't know if Darcy 'fits'.
Daisy: AND my sisters aren't named yet! The white leghorns might be named lizzy and jane.

Gertie: Captain Flint has been pulling out my neck feathers... My neck is bloody now... :(
Princess: She's been hiding in the nest boxes for some days now, and comes out only if she has to.
Gertie: But I have to roost, and then I get pecked! Both by Flint and Terry....
Lady Bullseye: Don't come near me, I'm in the nest box!!!
Princess: And Lady's a bit broody these days.
Gertie: I've heard the Fud People talking about moving me down to the barn, but that would be terrifying! I wouldn't have my safe next box....
Me: We really don't know what to do. We're leaving on a weekend trip tomorrow, so we have to do something to keep Gertie from getting more wounded by the others. Like she said, we've thought of putting her by herself in the barn, but then she would seriously freak out. Even right now, if she's not in her nest box or being held, she'll cluck her distress cluck. But, I don't feel we can just leave her to be pecked by the others. So, we're sort of between a rock and a hard place... :-/

Captain Flint: Well, on a more pleasant subject, I am Candidate 3 on The Stinkiest Stink-Eye poll. So, far, I'm winning! :3

Hedwig: Oh no! I'm sorry Gertie. :(
Snap: Junior used to get pecked on so much.
Bisquick: Has there been new members in the pecking order???
Buttermilk: Here's a note:
Dear Captain Flint,
I have heard how wonderful of a rooster you are, and we voted for you on The Stinkiest Stink-Eye. With Lady Bullseye broody and all, I'm sure you are highly upset with the functioning of your flock's pecking order. So, thus you must be taking it out on poor Gertie. I challenge you to sort things out instead of just pecking. To Gertie, one of Junior's favorite sayings was 'Be strong, and whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.' I hope you find the quote useful and that you will feel better soon! ~Love, Buttermilk Joy

Hazel: Aw, that was a sweet note, Buttermilk.
Pippy: What do ya know! I'm Candidate 5 on 'The Cutest Girly' poll, and I'm winning!! :D
Omelette: On another note, someone keeps spilling our water and soaking out bedding. *glares at Pippy and Hazel*
Pippy Hazel: What???!!!

Sophia's travel log:
The days are getting warmer again, and I am beginning to venture outside a bit. Selena and Elanor and Marianne are very kind, the other chicks and one of the hens remains neutral, and the other two hens not. The days are developing into a routine, and life here is beginning to go from not bad to seriously enjoyable, besides the pecking order. Once the Order straigtens out--with me at the bottom, I fear--ther'll be no point in keeping a log, but I shall do so anyway, as I enjoy keeping a diary.

All chickens: HELLO COUSINS!!!
Pippy: *keeps drastically waving* They're viewing the thread right now. :3
Hazel: *hides face* Uh, Pippy, you embarrass me so.
Hedwig: *scribbling on paper*
Omelette: Watcha doin' Hettie?
Hedwig: Foamwork.
Hazel: Homework.
Hedwig: Nuh-uh! My class calls it 'foamwork' cause it's so much, it's like foam!
Pippy: Aw!
*Outside with the hens*
[Everyone is peacefully playing in the nice afternoon sunshine]
[Buzzard soars over]
Bisquick: *glances up toward sky* WWEEEEOOOO WEEEOOOOO WEOOOOOO BUZZARD ALERT! BUZZARD ALERT!!! WEEOOO!!!!
Buttermilk: Oh my gosh, Bisquick, the chickens are gonna hear you down the road!!!
Snap: AAAHHH!!! GET IN YOUR POSITIONS!!!! *hides under car* SET, CHAAAAARGE!!!!!
Bisquick: FOR NARNIA!!!
Buttermilk: Oh my word.
Bisquick Snap: *fly off wall* YAAAA!!! GET 'IM!!!
Buttermilk: IT'S JUST A BUZZARD!!!! CALM DOWN YOU'LL BE FINE- OOF!
Bisquick Snap: YAAAAA!!!!
Buttermilk: AAHHH!!! *gets trampled by the others* AAHHH!!! MY LIFE IS FLASHING BEFORE MY EYES!
Bisquick Snap: *keep charging through the yard* YAAAA!!!!!!!!

Selena: You guys are funny. I used to do stuff like that when I was silly-Sal, who was the littlest and tripped over her own feet.
Sophia: and now you're the oldest, the Mom-chicken to me and the chicks.
Elanor: Sunrise and Susan would be proud.

Dandelion: Marble Victoria! Get down here!
Marble: One second! I'm trying to lay an egg here!
Pebble: Gee whiz Dandelion! It ain't that bad! She's just...
Dandelion: ON TOP OF THE COOP LAYING AN EGG!
*plop, roll drop crack*
Marble: Phooey, it dropped again!
Dandelion: THEN LAY IN THE NESTING BOXES!

Gertie: Thank you, Buttermilk! I don't have to move to the barn at all! They made a temporary place for me in the storage/entrance room of our coop. So I'll still be near friends, but not near roosters....

Princess: I feel like I'm the normal chicken right now (Gertie's hiding in her nestbox, Lady's broody, Terry's grumpy, etc. ). So, congratulations Pippy! You are very cute, and deserving of winning the cutest girly contest! :)
Lady Bullseye: DON'T TOUCH MY EGGS!!!!
Princess: *rolls eyes* You aren't sitting on any
Lady Bullseye: DON'T TOUCH MY IMAGINARY EGGS!!!!
