Selena: thanks.
we may or may not b getting one.
Elanor: None of us feel safe anymore. the Bear struck during the daytime--it must have, anyway--there's something wrong that it would go so close to humans.
Marianne: It's likely to come again.
Sophia: Oh, Whilloghby!!! Why didn't I tell you to come dustbathe with me!!
Buttermilk: Yes, that is very un-nerving!! Did earlybird hear anything? Like bear noises, etc. etc.
Bisquick: Was Will ranging all alone?
Snap: A GIANT cat ran right past Pip and Hazey today, Mom was pretty shook up about that...
Omelette: Mom was almost thinking about getting a rooster, but she doesn't want fertilized eggs and all that...
Darcy: *fluffs* whats wrong with fertilized eggs?
Selena: Mommy was gone, but everyone else was home.
Sophia: Here, bears are not some far-fetched thing of the wild. Out here, they are part of the local wildlife as stray dogs are to the city, and if they are too close to humans, they are a nuisance. The people next door's garbage was knocked over, and those across the street had thier bird feeders knocked over.
Elanor: Never before had the bears effected us though....our garbage and bird feeders were out of thier reach.
Marianne: and Will's feathers are about twenty feet from the coop! The woods there were known to have a mountain lion, but not a bear!
