Hi
1f64b.png
everyone just after a bit if advice.
I am looking at introducing 2/3 ducks to my lovely flock of hens (5 of) my questions are will they be ok or will there be issues the ducks will be around 8/10 weeks old and my ladies are about 1.
Im expecting a bit of upset as in new guest's but what about fighting?
They have loads of space ive already checked in to this, I also have a great water tub ready for them and I'm going to get them separate living quarters as I know my hens are particularly protective of there house, so would it be advisable to put the ducks at opposite ends?? B]

Many people keep both species together without problems. If the hens are particularly protective of one area, yes, I would put the ducks on the opposite end.

I don't think they are protective of any area just coop what I really meant was will I be the same as when introducing new chickens to the flock is there likely to be a bit of pecking etc.

Hi there! I've not kept ducks but I would certainly introduce them as they were new chickens. Have them seperate for a while but so they can see other but not get to each other and cause any harm. Once they are used to each other put them together but supervise incase you have to seperate them again. I have a friend who keeps her ducks and chickens together and they get on fine.

Good luck with your new ducks :thumbsup
