Hi-

So my daughter and I went to check the eggs and found two hens in the box. I have not separated my box into smaller units it is just one large one 18'' x 48''. Anyway... They were both trying to sit on the same egg. They kept pushing their way under the other hen until they were sitting on it, and then they would go through the whole thing again. They were both making a chirping sound. I took the egg, and moved it just to see what would happen and the lighter one went after it and moved it back to where they were and they proceeded to fight over it some more.

I just got my chicks in March and as of yesterday 6/12 are laying. We got out first egg 7/14/15, so they are new to this. I thought maybe it was broodyness, but an hour later they were both gone and there were 2 eggs. Another hen (other than those 2) could have laid the 2nd one... or it could have been one of the ones I saw.

Thoughts?

If I can I will upload a video of them.
