When both are in the henhouse, the little chicken goes and plops herself on the big one. Sometimes on her head sometimes just in the middle of her body.

The little one was broody for a long time, then when she started coming out the bigger one attacked her so she's been staying in there all the time. Today she tried to come out and was attacked for it.

Dh is building another tractor and I am going to separate them but in the meantime, does anyone else's chickens do this?

I have 5 laying boxes but my girls prefer to use just 1 if possible. Not always the same one, just the first one that's used that day. I've seen as many as 3 sitting in the same box.
3 standard chickens in 1 milk crate = overcrowding!

I forgot to say, they aren't laying in the same nest when this happens, it can be anywhere in the henhouse. She lays on her head which is so strange!
