Black 12 week old - What am I and what is my gender?

She's kind of shy. She hangs out with the Cuckoo Marans rooster mostly. Here is another photo... earlobes are still white.

I recently posted one of my chicks that looks just like this. I thought she was an austalorp too but as she got older I noticed the white earlobes. My girl is also very mellow and sweet. the concensus seems to be that she is a minorca or andalusion. Coincidentally, today she spent a considerable amount of time in a nest box, but didn't leave me an egg. I guess it will be soon.

I wish I knew for sure. I saw a photo of someone else's chicken that looked exactly like mine, got it from the same place a week later and they told her it was a black jersey giant. So, now I'm asking that thread. I know the minorcas earlobes can get really white and pronounced, and I'm not noticing that at all yet, its more like cream-colored skin. But, it's only 12-13 weeks old at this point.

In looking at the other post, it appears to me that the other black chicken has pink earlobes. Your chicken looks like it definitely has white lobes to me. My chicken looked just like yours at twelve weeks and I thought it was an australorp too. Now that mine is 21-22 weeks, her white earlobes are much more pronounced and her little comb and wattles have grown a lot but remains pink. At this point I believe that mine probably is a minorca because McMurrays (where I purchased her) only has blue andalusions. I hope you have some luck in determining her breed. I know it can be frustrating trying to figure it out. I still have one who remains somewhat of a mystery.

Minorca pullet would make sense because her comb is big for her age. Minorca combs are very large, so combined with the other info I would guess Minorca. Watch for the earlobes to grow bigger and whiter.

Well, I am not overly concerned about what she is but it would be nice to know. I am more concerned that she is not a rooster. We rehomed one yesterday, and I am keeping an eye on her because I am not sure. Today, with the rooster gone, I don't think she is acting roo-ish at all. The comb is larger than my other hens and the tail feathers curve a teeny bit. My roo was acting very roo at the same age, wouldn't this one act more rooish if it was a roo?

McMurray advertises blue andalusians but the nature of the blue gene is that you also get blacks and splashes from blueXblue. I have gotten several andalusian chicks from Mcmurray and I have to yet get a blue one, always splash or blacks.

So she could be a black Andalusian.
