Black and yellow chicks

So far i have 3 black and 3 yellow chicks from a Delaware M with a olive egger( maron x cream leg bar) F. Whats going on here? Is this a sexlink thing or just the olive egger expressing different genes in her offspring ?
 
I think your different colored chicks might be due to a sex link gene, rather than different genes being expressed…
 
Usually, from what I've heard/seen, darker colored chicks are usually female, while the lighter chicks are male.

But it might be different, with the breeds you have crossed.

Dark is not the same as Black, he is dealing with heterozygous Birchen ER or Extended Blacl from Maran parent.


Delaware are Wheaten(eWh/eWh) at the e locus, the Easter Egger is E/e+, when crossing both together you get 50% E/eWh black chicks and 50% eWh/e+ whitish chicks
