Ok, so if anyone remembers my Maria/Mario chick question a couple months ago...turns out its Mario. 😏 ...i ended up with 6 out of 7 cockerels in that brood... 😵‍💫🤯

Soooooo...i quickly ordered another dozen eggs and the chickies are now almost 6 weeks old. I've figured most of them out, but I have one BA that confuses me. I've got one I'm pretty confident is a cockerel, one I'm pretty sure is a pullet, and one who is smack dab in between...I could use some opinions...whatdyall think? Here is a pick with the two I'm pretty sure of...

and here are two different angles of the one whose comb is right smack dab in between the other two in size...nowhere NEAR as thick/wide as the cockerel, but bigger and pinker than the pullet's.

Does the pink comb mean boy? ...or is it possible its a girl with a slightly bigger and pinker comb than her sister's?

I would agree with above that it is likely a slower developing cockerel, pretty significant comb for that age and it has really thick legs, BUT it could also be a faster developing pullet. Pics in about 2 weeks for a better answer is needed I think

I find sexing at 6 weeks confusing with my Australorps.

So far, my boys have revealed themselves around 4 weeks and a couple times I've made errors mistaking a fast-growing pullet for a cockerel at 6-8 weeks. Then they're clear again at 12 weeks or so when the saddles come in. :)
