In the Brooder
I got some new chicks recently (March 26) and I'm assuming they were quite young when the supply got them in. So, a week and a few days old.
Much too early to tel actual gender but they were sold as pullets, my black australorp chick is holding her tail up, it's what I'm considering as flagging her tail (Almost like the meerkats stick their tails up when in danger? That's all it reminds me of
)
Is this a sign of something bad? Is it normal for australorps? Is it a pecking order establishment thing or something entirely different? I don't think it's an issue or any sort of danger, I'm just curious as I don't recall seeing it in any other breed of chickens as chicks.
