I am bringing my young Roo back to my chicken guy, as I am unable to have a rooster in my town. I'm very sad about this. :(
I'm seriously considering getting a Black Australorp or a Welsummers. I've been reading about both breeds. The Black Australorp was initially on my list. But, he didn't have any at the time. I've only heard of the welsummers since joining this forum. He has both at this time & I'd greatly appreciate your input &
experience with these breeds.

Thank you so much!

Oh no, that doesn't sound good. I should be concerned even with young ones?

I know in the Parrot world, new additions need to be quarantined as well as introduced slowly. But, people add birds to their existing flocks all the time. Can you point me to an article, I should read? Maybe something here on the forum?

I would spend hours reading through the emergency section.

There is not one particular article that I can think of right now.

Just by you mentioning that some chicken man was willing to take a bird back and offer you another makes the red flag go up.

Is a good way to spread disease...assuming is done this before or offers to take birds back from other people too.

So it's not so much about a bird's age. It's about where the bird comes from.
