she/he is 17wks old and has been doing this very loud scream/honk thing that sounds duck/goose like for about 2 weeks now. its starting to make me think she might be a he, its at any time of day and her/him sister and wattles are even close to size or as red.
 
Look for saddle feathers, at 5 months old you should easily see them. Saddle feathers are found on the back near the tail and are thin long and shiny. Or you can post a side picture of the bird.

If it makes you feel any better, my hens honk too, especially my EEs, but also my black australorps, and they are about the same age. It's quite a funny sound, and one I wasn't expecting!

YES! I also have BAs...they are around 14 weeks old now, I have a webcam in the coop and for the past week or so early in the morning hours I've been hearing this "HONK" sound...you'd swear I had a goose in there!! Being new to BAs I figured "oh no, I've got a roo!" but when I sit out there and watch chicken TV none of them have an inkling of roo about them. I was so glad to see this thread!!!
