Black Australorp Roo?

I bet the orange one is an easter egger in BSL disguise, and that is her egg :D.

A lot of EEs have the pea comb gene, which makes the comb and wattle on an adult bird much smaller than usual. EE also carry the blue egg gene, which causes their eggs to be different shades of blue or green.

EEs are often sold as "Ameraucanas".

I had thought she might be cause the cage they were in said Americana and bsl but this fantastic website has provided insight from many and all say bsl.

BSL wouldn't lay a green egg, they are bred with brown egg laying breeds, usually RIR and Barred Rock.
She looks superficially like a BSL but the egg gives her away.
Australorps and Barred Rocks also lay brown eggs.

YES! I also have BAs...they are around 14 weeks old now, I have a webcam in the coop and for the past week or so early in the morning hours I've been hearing this "HONK" sound...you'd swear I had a goose in there!! Being new to BAs I figured "oh no, I've got a roo!" but when I sit out there and watch chicken TV none of them have an inkling of roo about them. I was so glad to see this thread!!! :weee
my BAs are definitely the most talkative of all of mine. I called mine Goose for awhile too.

Here's my egg layer, I was able to witness her second one 30min ago. She never made a sound. And in the nesting box again:) I'm sure my BA Jackie is not far behind her comb doubled in size overnight
