Black Barred Rock anyone raised any??

I have some Rhode island red pullets local feed store has some.Black barred rocks was thinking of getting a couple are they good egg layers and anyone had experience with them getting along with other types of chickens

They are very similar to Rhode Island Reds, except for color. Both are very popular "dual purpose" breeds and excellent layers.

Do they mingle with RIR well?

I would expect they would. I've heard they're more docile than RIR usually. Mine get along great with the Wyandottes, BAs and EE with them.

Be aware the ones you have at home already consider that their turf, even if they're young. I have 16 week olds and we're having to take our time integrating the 7 and 8 week olds.

I have Black Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorp and Easter Eggs and they are get along great. Now we did get them all at the same time when they were a day old. So they've been raised together.
